Table of Hope Jacobsdal

When the school holidays start, the poorest children in our communities have no source of food for the day. The dire situation causes them to turn to burglary and petty crime to buy food for themselves. When everyone else is feasting, these street children are going hungry for days on end. With no other outcome, where do they go? They start breaking in, stealing whatever is of value to buy food or drugs to still the pain inside. We know stealing, or using drugs is not the highest way of living your life, and we do not condone this behavior. But we need to understand the root of the cause to address it. 

We took hands with The Dove Company to set a Table of Hope for them during the December holidays to still the temptation to steal, and allow us to love these children to Christ one meal at a time. Our evangelists are building into their lives to give them purpose, show what love is, and direct them into a fuller life with Christ. We have asked the community to contribute to this cause, and the local churches are involved to help raise funds, fresh produce, helping hands, and loving hearts to tend to these children. 

Every contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way to replace the hunger with hope.
