The 6th Annual US Ignite Application Summit is coming up fast and IgniteSA will be at the Kansas City Convention Centre putting South Australia and the state's innovative programs forward. This year the summit is being held in Kansas City between March 26 - 29th and again will be jointly hosted with the Smart City Connect and Expo. The summit program caters for a broad audience, from demonstrations of applications for sensing community pollution, through to panel session to discover how to maximise the potential of startups to create economic growth and solve urban challenges. A full program listing is shown on the summit site. IgniteSA and South Australia's GigCity is the first and only recognised highly connected city and gigabit application program outside of the US, so its important that we discuss how local interests can connect and be attractive to US Ignite programs. IgniteSA's Community Leader, Jasmine Vreugdenburg, will be hosting a workshop session to discuss this very topic.
At this year's summit, there will be many different exciting presentations and demonstrations showcasing a range of different technologies, next generation networks while solving issues faced by various communities. The summit provides the opportunity to discuss, review and see how different city programs tackle relevant issues to innovation precincts and programs, such as:
- creating the right collaboration approach and engagement between industry, academia and government
- sustaining smart community efforts beyond initial programs
- driving economic development activity from the outputs of smart communities
- exploring ways to maximise advanced networking technologies
- Connecting communities with similar challenges.
IgniteSA is happy to put forward your thoughts and can connect you and your innovative South Australian program with any of the 25 cities that are now US Ignite and Smart Gigabit Communities.
